Iconic camp identifying building for generations of 4-Hers and a remarkably intact example of special site adapted vernacular design and engineering that utilized local materials and manual skills.

Junction City Opera House

The Junction City Opera House in Junction City received a Rehabilitation Medallion Award. Constructed in 1898 and donated to the city in 1982, the building was rehabilitated to provide a venue for arts and entertainment activities.

Bartell House

Homestead Affordable Housing, owner. Now Bartell Place Senior Residences, the rehabilitation of the Bartell House was a long effort by many preservationists and other interested groups in Junction City.

Geary County Courthouse

The 2000 awards ceremony was held at the Carnegie Arts Center in Leavenworth on March 31, 2000, in conjunction with the annual Statewide Preservation Conference. For the second yearSouthwestern Bell provided a generous grant to underwrite the event.
